On my way to Death Valley I stopped to check out the stream flow in Burro Creek and snapped a picture of my bike and the bridge.

Not sure if the dam that forms this little lake on Burro Creek is manmade or natural.

Most or the year there is little or no water flowing out of the lake, but it is running pretty good today.

Shortly after leaving the campground I almost hit a mile stone.

A mile later, I did.

As I neared the I-40 I took this picture of the Hualapai's with a fresh snowpack

Nearing the Pat Tillman Bridge that crosses the Colorado River

After leaving the Las Vegas area we are entering Red Rock Canyon

Not a lot of red to be seen

Pretty none the less

We've had a cool winter this year and quite a bit of snow in the mountains

Dave has been following along since meeting up with me in Kingman




When we reached Pahrump it was time for a quick lunch

The dresses on display here were the ones worn by the lady that performed the operas 

They were all live performances staged in Amargosa.

We made it to the motel only to have to wait a couple of hours before they would check us in.

Mike was right behind us

Matt showed up just after Mike

And he said my hair looked tacky

Greg, Amanda, Raoul are here and now the fun begins.


This will be an interesting place when it is completed



The guy building it is definitely an artist

I'm not sure if anyone else is going to join me but I plan to have at least one meal here

I like it when you can park in front of your room

I had the pulled pork sitting on the corner

Kind of hard to see but another group of motorcyclist arrived while we were enjoying out meal. Tomorrow, some pictures from inside the park.

Mike and I headed out today for Rockies Gold and decided to visit Kolob Canyon on the way to meet some friends in Cedar City, UT. It's a beautiful canyon....... .......when you get to see more than just a mile and a half of it. Unfortunately the road was completely washed out from recent rains. On arrival everyone started catching up with each other, or was that text messages? The next day we all headed up to Cedar Breaks. I decided to take Hwy 142 west from Goldendale, WA and passed this place. I think it was a museum of some sort. There were lots of views of both Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood along the way. This one is Adams. This picture was taken of Mt Hood at the same place that I took the previous picture of Adams. Hwy 142 follows the Klickitat River until it flows into the Columbia It is famous for both it fishing and white water kayaking I'm not sure if these are early Foxglove or not, but they were plentiful and beautiful The City These first time kayakers are getting their instructions. It was actually quite comical watching them, but it was all serious business to them. The water chutes that form in the river become more frequent and impressive the closer you get to the Columbia. The kayaker and motorcyclist love it. I totally expect plenty of screams if they actually make it to this section. I pulled into this rest area. These guys pulled in right after me. A little police action at the Exchange Club Motel this morning. We never did find out what happened but this gal was involved After going through the SUV........ ........they hauled it off! Breaking from tradition, we had breakfast at Mel's Diner instead of Denny's The place was packed but they did a great job of getting us in and out. The food was good and the price was very reasonable They are trying to decide if they can actually run that fast. It's another beautiful day in Death Valley Eight of us made the ride today Fuel prices were kind of high here so we waited until we could get the cheap stuff in Shoshone for only $5.99 a gal.
